Method for the separation of cellular hybrids, which have been produced by fusion of at least two cell types, by selection using membrane-bound markers, where a) the cell types to be fused are provided with markers which are different in each case, b) the cell fusion is carried out, c) the sample obtained in this way is mixed with substances (affinity ligands I) which are able to enter into a high-affinity reversible interaction with the marker on the cell types, and these substances (affinity ligands I) simultaneously have another site which is able to mediate a second specific interaction which reversibly and temporarily immobilises the formed complexes of cellular hybrid with marker and unfused cells of the one cell type with the same marker and the abovementioned substance, d) the non-immobilised other cell types with other marker and fusion products of these cell types are separated off, then a e) mobilisation of the immobilised complexes takes place, f) followed by addition of another substance (affinity ligand II) which is, however, able to enter into a high-affinity interaction with the marker on the other cell type and has another site which can enter into a second specific interaction which leads to a reversible temporary immobilisation of the formed complexes of hybrids with markers for the second cell type and the abovementioned substance (affinity ligand II)...
