The heat storage clamp encloses a strand of hair wound onto a coil body. The clamp is supplied with power until the system consisting of the clamp, coil body and hair strand achieves a thermal capacity sufficient to produce a permanent wave in the hair. The power is supplied to the clamp for a defined time. The end of the time period is indicated acoustically and/or optically. Alternatively, the time can be controlled via at least one temp. sensor. The power is supplied until the heat storage device has reached a defined temp. value. USE/ADVANTAGE - Eliminates e.g. inconvenience of operation and excessive loading on head.
