PURPOSE: To efficiently proliferate a cell which is difficult to proliferate in a synthetic artificial culture solution by using a tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase as a cell growth factor and culturing an animal cell or an animal-derived fused cell. ;CONSTITUTION: A conditioned culture solution of a human gingival fibroblast (Gin-1 cell) is purified by get filtration and affinity.chromatography using a column of immobilized concanavalin A and a column of an immobilized antitissue.inhibitor.of.metalloproteinase (TIMP) antibody to isolate a tissue.inhibitor.of.metalloproteinase (TIMP), which is used as a cell growth factor. Thereby, a serum-free culture medium for tissue culture is prepared and used to culture an animal tissual cell or an animal-derived fused cell.
