The direction indicator display has separate front and rear displays, attached in each case to the top of the forks. The display takes the form of a window in a box, the right hand side of which has a right-pointing arrow and the left hand side of which has a left-pointing arrow, either of which arrows being illuminated, when necessary. An alternative design has one arrow above the other to give a thinner, taller box. Separate boxes with a window for a left-hand arrow only could instead be attached to the left front and rear forks, with boxes for a right-hand arrow only attached to the right forks.
