The present invention relates to processes for automatically compensating the magnetizations induced by the earth's magnetic field in structures of ferromagnetic materials. It consists more particularly in causing compensation currents to flow in at least one immunization loop located in a plane substantially perpendicular to the component of the earth's magnetic field to be compensated and comprises a number of stages making use of the circuit effect of each loop with and each loop without a core to optimise by calculation the currents to be caused to circulate in each loop surrounding one or more ferromagnetic structures to compensate the magnetic field induced in the plane concerned. The process is especially applicable to the compensation of magnetization induced in the vertical, transverse and/or longitudinal directions.
