The method according to the invention relates to the use of the very high temperatures of the magma from volcanoes in order to smelt metal waste and in order to place their molecules back in the arrangement which they had before the industrial use of the metals. In this method, the metallic waste (6) is poured into the crater (3) of a volcano (11), and the crust (10) which covers over the magma (12) is broken up with the aid of explosive bombs (7) deposited beforehand onto the crust. The magma (12) released smelts the metallic waste (6) and rises up into the crater, entraining this waste into cooling chambers (9) via tunnels (8). According to this method it is possible then to tip pollutant industrial waste into the crater of the volcano before the magma hardens again in contact with the air. IMAGE
