The gauge comprises a conventional 'C' shaped Bourdon tube (4) in an enclosure. The free end of the tube acts on an electronic force sensing element (6). The transducer (6) is connected to an electronic integrated circuit (CI) which converts the signal representing the force detected to a measure of applied pressure shown on an electronic digital display unit (7) mounted in the same enclosure. The entry point to the gauge for the fluid under pressure being measured is a horizontal projection (32) at the rear of the enclosure (2).
