The panel is rectangular in shape, and has at least two connectors (2) extending at right angles from one of its edges. Each connector comprises a strip (20) which rests on the ground and has upward-facing projections (21) on its ends which engage with recesses in the undersides of adjacent panels. The connectors can be made from a hard plastics, with one end fixing into a recess in a panel, and the other attached so that it can be removed. The panels also have grooves to receive the strips. The edges of adjacent panels have matching rounded tongues and grooves which engage when two panels are fitted together. ADVANTAGE - Design simplicity and moderate cost, allowing panels to be fitted together without relative movement.
