Process consists of removing the portion of the beam which has deteriorated, together with its reinforcing elements, cutting a channel (6) in the beam inside its reinforcing rib, and fixing a reinforcing element (8) with an inverted T-shaped cross-section onto the bottom of the beam and into the channel. The reinforcing element can be made from a resin compsn. material reinforced with fibres, e.g. polyester resin reinforced with glass fibres, fixed in place by a layer (7) of a resin adhesive applied to the surfaces of the beam and the reinforcing element. The adhesive can be an epoxy resin, and the surface of the beam can be coated with an impregnating resin material before the adhesive is applied. ADVANTAGE - Method is more convenient means of restoring deteriorated concrete beam.
