The slipper with a non-slip sole (5) is in the form of a sock made from an elasticated mesh material, while the sole, attached to the underside of the sock, is made from a series of adjoining but independent blocks so that they can move apart as the sock stretches. The blocks of the sole, which can be made e.g. from natural rubber or neoprene which is either solid or cellular, can be joined together by zones of reduced thickness which give a better resistance to moisture when the slipper sole stretches. The blocks can be attached to the slipper sole by hot transfer from a panel on which they have been previously placed. The blocks can be in the form of identical or different geometrical shapes. ADVANTAGE - Slipper prevents absorption of moisture from wet surfaces.
