The branch connector fitted to the main pipe comprises an upper tubular element (21) fitted perpendicular to the walls of the main pipe and provided with a lateral piece (22) of the branch pipe. The lower part of this connector contains a saddle (23) which clamps it to the main pipe (2). Inside the tubular element is a trepanning tool (28) for cutting a disc from the wall of the main pipe. This tool has a ring (35) which seals it after drilling to the smooth internal wall of the tubular element above the lateral piece of the branch pipe. USE/ADVANTAGE - For drilling into the wall of a gas main and fitting a branch line. Prevents leakage of gas during the operation.
