The marker consists of a stake (1) with a separate ring (4) and head (10). The stake fits through a hole (11) in the head with the ring on its upper part so that, when positioned, it is housed against the head inside and below it. The stake may be smooth or have projecting fixing lugs. The head is conical for the ring to fit snugly in its lower half. The stake is hammered into the ground, the head put over it and a capping piece placed in the hole to hold it steady.
