Management system for small centrally supervised installation - using local central unit which is linked to distant supervision and controls local installations through microcomputers

The management system has a local central unit (6) which works as a communication coupler and local control units (2A, 2B, 2C) which operate individual items of plant. The local control units use a microprocessor (3) with memory (4) and interface (5) to receive data from and transmit commands to the plant supervised. The local central unit (6) uses a microprocessor (7) with memory (8), clock (9) and three interfaces (11, 12, 13). The first interface (11) provides for local manual control via a console (14). The second interface (12) communicates with the local control units through optical fibres. Remote control from a distant supervising station (15) is achieved through the third interface (13). ADVANTAGE - Small installations of diverse plant may be remotely controlled using compact equipment.
