Radiological system for human body examination - has head and femoral neck compensation module on rotatable pivoting support

The radiological system includes a filter system between the X-ray tube and radiation reception cassette. The filter unit is fitted with a compensation module (13) which compensates for the differential absorption of the human body in the region of the head down to the femoral neck for a subject sat in profile on a seat. The compensation module (13) is mounted on a rotatable support (9) which can pivot in the plane perpendicular to the direction of the X ray beam. The module has two luminous centres (11,12) giving two orthogonal luminous paths (20,21) so as to centre the X-ray beam with respect to the subject and the receiving cassette. The cassette is mounted so as to pivot on a support so that its median axis aligns itself along the back of the seat supporting the subject to be examined. ADVANTAGE - Reduces irradiation and measuring errors due to position changes of the subject.
