The packaging machine (D) has a constant operating cycle giving step advance for each product or group of products. At inlet there is a pegged chain (C) ensuring a fixed step between each product which is perfectly synchronised with the machine (D). A retractable conveyor (B) automatically compensates for fluctuations in production (A) and inertia of the machine (D) ensuring management of the machine speed relative to the production (A). The conveyor (B) comprises a fixed framework supporting a motorised drum and a detour roller. A motorised trolley slides on the framework relative to the frame supporting the retractable nose of the conveyor. USE - Positioning of products at regular intervals without accumulation.
