The invention relates to a method and device for detecting an electric or ionic perturbation, and utilization thereof. A reference body (CR) is placed in the vicinity of an area (Z) wherein a perturbation P is to be detected. The electroconducting reference body (CR) is set at a predetermined electric potential (VB) with respect to a reference potential (VR) in order to subject the latter to an electric influence phenomenon in the presence of the perturbation (P). The electric charges induced by electric influence on the reference body (CR) are detected from the electric current (I) generated by electric charges between the reference body and the reference potential. Application to the non-invasive surveillance of intrusions and to the detection of tactile contacts.
