The element consists of a vertical support plate (54) having a front face turned towards the operator and an opposed rear face (55). Mounted on this rear face, is a tensioner (40) in the form of a quadrant which pivots about an axis of a shaft (48) which passes through a hole in this plate. The end of this shaft is threaded to accommodate a locking screw (60) for clamping up the tensioner once the adjustment is made. A recess (53) is provided in the end of this shaft to enable the operator to fit in a tool to make this adjustment. The ends (72,74) of the looped cable (18) are anchored, one on the tensioner and the other on an anchor point (76) on the plate (54). Use/Advantage - A tension regulator for a looped cable for the automatic operating of lift doors which is an improvement over the use of tensioning springs with adjustment accessible from the front.
