High power compact steam turbine for PWR - using single flow HP cylinder and double flow IP and LP cylinders

The turbine consists of a single flow HP cylinder (12), with an intermediate moisture separator and reheater (4), and a double flow IP cylinder (13) which feeds several double flow LP cylinders (5) at low pressure and temp. Also claimed is the use of high speed driers both between the IP and LP cylinders and to replace the moisture separator and reheater unit (4) between the HP and IP cylinders. USE/ADVANTAGE - As PWR turbine generator. Reduced dimensions and high output power - greater than 1500 MW at 1500 rpm (e.g. 2500 MW) and greater than 1040 MW at 1800 rpm (e.g. 1800 MW).
