The equipment for processing domestic waste includes a series of openings into which waste materials can be put according to type. These may include organic waste, glass, paper and card, metals and plastics. A common shaft extends across the bottom of all the containers, with a set of crushing or shredding blades attached. The pulverised product is dropped into a standard size hopper beneath the respective shredding blade, the hopper being hermetically sealed. A single motor-reducer drive system is used to rotate all the blades. ADVANTAGE - Manual sorting is more reliable than automatic sorting, and waste is rapidly reduced to a suitable volume for storing. Handling of waste is reduced, and recycling made easier.
