Subsoil liquid fertiliser applicator - has share situated behind circular coulter, equipped with forward projecting side plates and fins

The applicator has a circular coulter (7) which is set vertically and designed to cut a furrow, and a share (10) which is situated in the same plane to the rear of the coulter and open out in the furrow while the fertiliser is fed into it through a tube (12). The share is extended at the front by two flat side plates (10b) which lie parallel to the plane of the coulter and at a short distance from its two faces. The lower edges of each side plate is inclined upwards towards the front, while its upper edge is inclined upwards towards the rear, and both edges are chamfered. Each side of the share also has a fin (10c) which is triangular in shape and slops down slightly towards the front. The coulter, share and feed tube are mounted on a single frame (1) which is pivoted about a horizontal axis (2) and can be equipped with a shock absorber (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Design simplicity and suitable for use on land which is stony or strewn with plant tops, e.g. of maize.
