The credit card holder has two rectangular flaps (1,2) joined by a hinge allowing the holder to be opened and closed. At least one of the flaps has parallel pockets (3,4,5) of a suitable size to hold standard credit cards. Each pocket contains conducting strips which are kept apart by the presence of a card (C). Removal of a card triggers an electronic alarm circuit by contact of the conducting strips. A shock sensor triggers the alarm if the wallet is dropped.
