Cultivated cold sensitive plants are protected from frosts by a collection of burners (10) arranged in rows amongst the lines of plants. Each burner is equipped with a jet (12) and supplied with fuel by a pipe (20), which is fed from a central pumping station and storage tank. Each burner is equipped with a system of electrodes (17a & 17b), which are controlled from a remote central point, to allow the instantaneous generation of an electric arc in the fuel atomised and sprayed by the jets. USE/ADVANTAGE - It enables the burners to be lit simultaneously and automatically.
