The switch includes a ring (300) on a hand lever (500) which rotates about its axis (302) to turn an eccentric short rod (314) which engages with a fork (262, 264) attached to the slide (200). The slide moves to and fro directly in a channel between a rest position and one supplying a current. The lever is fixed to the pivoted assembly (400) to enable rotation of the assembly about its principal axis (402). Steps (410) on the assembly prevent movement of the slide from an active to a rest position when the assembly is active. The rotation allows a spring-loaded stud (270) on the slider to pass through a channel (412) in the assembly to the exterior of the assembly. ADVANTAGE - Can select side according to traffic flow, and reduces battery charge consumption.
