The installation consists of a housing divided into sections by fire-resistant partitions and in which the seat of the fire (4) is located.The seat of the fire is created by a vertical panel (40) on which a combustible liquid is sprayed by a bar (41) with nozzles and a control valve, a hood (5) to remove smoke, and a collector for the extinguishing material, the hood and collector being located respectively above and below the panel. The housing can be mounted on a wheeled platform, pulled by a tractor, and its partitions can have doors leading from one to another to give access to the section where the seat of the first is situated.The hood can be equipped with a smoke extractor (51) and purifier (53, 54), and the housing can have artificial smoke generators and an electrical igniter for the fuel.The installation can incorporate an extinguisher which is equipped with a lance (42) and is linked by a pump to a source of extinguishing fluid.
