The shock-absorbing structure is in the form of a profile or elongate box (1) of adaptable length. The cross-section of the structure corresponds to two closed loops (2,3), joined to each other. The two closed loops are symmetrical with respect to the middle plane (8,15) of the structure and joined to a central core (4). The loops are in the form of a trapezium and joined at their common base which forms the central core defining a structure that absorbs shocks. USE - Absorbing and attenuating shocks in e.g. automobiles.
