The stacking unit is made up of a base (32e) with sidewalls and inlet rollers for the paper. The base has four helical shaped wires (33a, 33'a; 34a, 34'a), two sets of helix rotates about a vertical axis (33k, 33'k; 34k, 34'k), one of the pair rotating clockwise and the other counter clockwise. Each helix has a ramp at its lower end (72,72'; 73,73'). Rollers push the paper into the gap between the outside of the helix, and the ramp pushes the paper upwards. rotation of the helix pushes the paper forward into the second set of helix sections, where the paper is again pushed up. USE/ADVANTAGE - ink can dry on one sheet of paper before next piece of paper is stacked directly on top of it, and order of stacking can be controlled.
