The pharmaceutical ointment having no irritating action on the skin comprises from 0.5 to 10% by weight of piroxicam, from 15 to 30% by weight of hydrophobic carrier (s), from 60 to 75% by weight of hydrophilic carrier (s), and from 0.1 to 10% by weight of additive (s) and emulsifiers. BR/ It contains from 2 to 5% by weight of emulsifiers consisting of a poly (ethylene glycol) alkyl or alkenyl ether and a sorbitan ester of a fatty acid or of an oleic acid in a weight ratio of 3/1 to 1/3.
