Vehicle bodies (1) pass (F) on conveyors (2) between horizontal side spraying heads (3 - 8) and under 3 gantry-mounted heads (9). Behind each side head and gantry column (100) control cabinets (103 - 111) are mounted on hinges (150). Each is in two sections (103A, 103B), hinged together (151), swinging out for access, and contains all the electrically controlled valves for the air, paint, flushing and purging supplies, and all the monitoring and nozzle positioning devices, associated with that head. The head only sits inside the paint cabin (120, 121), further improving access. To prevent pollution, cabinets may be slightly pressurised. Common services are provided for a marshalling cabinet (11), also containing the master controller (12) and flow regulator (13). Opt., the latter functions are decentralised to individual cabinets.
