The device for measuring the magnetic signature of a naval vessel (1) includes at least one magnetic sensor intended to measure the magnetic field. It uses a device towed by the naval vessel as a support for the magnetic sensor, positioned during measurements at a distance at which it is sensitive to the naval vessel's own magnetic field. The information gathered is then sent on board the naval vessel where a magnetic compensation system can, if appropriate and if the measurements give the necessary setting-up parameters, set up the magnetic immunisation of the vessel.
