This heelpiece for a safety binding for a cross-country or touring ski includes a blocking member (1) intended to be fastened on the upper surface of the ski (S) and having an elastic arm (2) extending longitudinally and in an inclined manner, from back to front and from bottom to top, as well as an attachment member (4) having a rear transverse ridge (7) and a front transverse lip (11). This attachment member (4) is mounted pivotably about a transverse spindle (5) integral with the blocking member, between a service position in which the attachment member is pushed forwards by the elastic arm of the blocking member so that its front lip interacts with a stirrup device (6) with which the rear end of the ski boot (6) is equipped so as to block the latter against the surface of the ski, and a non-service position in which the said attachment member is held back by the elastic arm so as to release the said boot.
