PURPOSE:To enable economical maintenance and control of electrolytic protection of steel in a reinforced concrete structure by embedding a steel electrode in the structure and covering the electrode with a cover as an electric current barrier. CONSTITUTION:A steel electrode 1 is embedded in a reinforced concrete structure consisting of concrete 3 and a reinforcing bar 4. The embedded electrode 1 is covered with a cover 2 as an electric current barrier so as to eliminate the influence of current for electrolytic protection supplied to the steel to be protected in the concrete structure. The covered electrode 1 is used to maintain and control the electric potential of the steel held under electrolytic protection. Economical maintenance and control of electrolytic protection of the steel in the reinforced concrete are enabled.
