PURPOSE:To raise the ground surface gripping efficiency of a pneumatic tire while steering, by forming offsets of a given size in the circumferencial direction between the blocks on the tread which are adjoining each other along the rotary shaft direction of the tire, and arranging them as they form a herringbone pattern at a specific angle of inclination to the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:For example, between two lines L-L, M-M, which are parallel with the rotary shaft direction line J-J, the former passes through the center of gravity G of a block B'1 which is formed at the left side of the equator O-O, the latter passes through the center of gravity G of a block B'2 which is formed at the left side of the said block B'1, an offset x, whose length is 0.3-0.7 times the circumferential length A of the block, is formed. Then, from the center of the tread toward the edge of it, blocks B... are arranged as they form a herringbone patterned blocks line at an average angle of inclination of 10-35 deg. with the rotary shaft direction line J-J.
