PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent image contour emphasizing device which is capable of giving a smooth and natural correction to the contour of an image by providing a constitution making an emphasizing signal to be the product of a cubic function and an attenuation function exp. ;CONSTITUTION: V8g is a signal source, HPF1 consists of a capacitor C1, a resistor R1, a power source V1, a transistor Q1 and a current source 11, LPF3 consists of a resistor R2 and a capacitor C2, and an amplifier 9 consists of resistors R3 to R5, transistors Q2 to Q4 and current sources 12 to 14. An adder 12 consists of resistors R6 to R8 and R14 to R16, transistors Q5 to Q7 and Q12 to Q14 and current sources 15 to 17 and 112 to 114, LPF4 consists of a resistor R9, a capacitor C3, a transistor Q8 and a current source 18, an amplifier 5 consists of resistors 10 to 13, transistors Q9 to 11 and current sources 19 to 111, LPF2 consists of a resistor R14, a capacitor C4, a transistor Q15 and a current source 115, and vout is an output terminal.
