METHOD FOR REMOVING CELL OF WORSENED PERFORMANCE IN FUEL CELL STACK

PURPOSE:To remove a cell, whose performance is worsened, by a simple method and further surely from a fuel cell stack. CONSTITUTION:A cell C, formed by interposing an electrolytic plate l infiltrating fused carbonate as an electrolyte in both electrodes of cathode 2 and anode 3 from both surfaces, is laminated through a separator 4. Oxide gas OG is supplied to a gas passage 5 in a cathode side of each cell C, and also fuel gas FG is supplied to a gas passage 6 in an anode side. A peripheral part of the electrolytic plate 1 in each stage serves as a wet seal part 13 to prevent a gas leak. A metal ion, fused in carbonate, is injected from the wet seal part 13 into the electrolytic plate 1 of the cell C decreasing performance, to short- circuit the cathode 2 and the anode 3 by a metal 15 spread in the electrolytic plate 1, so as to remove the cell from a fuel cell stack S.
