PURPOSE:To obtain a method for carrying out steam finish while performing uncurling treatment of curled parts in selvage parts of knitted fabrics in various forms capable of branching during processing. CONSTITUTION:A method for steam setting finish of a knitted fabric and its apparatus are composed as follows: Both a main conveyor 7 and sub-conveyor 6 capable of carrying and transferring a knitted fabric are connectedly installed and the knitted fabric is then placed on the sub-conveyor. The size is regulated with knitted fabric guide clips in which the size is indicated. The sub-conveyor is further operated to transfer the knitted fabric guide clips 49 and the knitted fabric to the side of the main conveyor. Curls are uncurled and the knitted fabric is then transferred to a steam chamber 46 with the main conveyor. Steam is simultaneously applied to the knitted fabric while pressing the knitted fabric during the transfer with knitted fabric pressers arranged in the steam chamber 46. Thereby, the knitted fabric is subjected to steam setting finish.
