PURPOSE: To obtain a water-repellent, shrink-resistant wool fabric with high durability to laundering by low-temperature plasma treatment of a wool fabric followed by imparting the resultant fabric with a fluorine-based water- and oil-repelling agent and a resin liquid comprising specific siloxanes followed by heat treatment. CONSTITUTION: This wool fabric is obtained by the following process: a wool fabric subjected to ordinary dyeing trimming processing is first put to low- temperature plasma treatment followed by padding with a fluorine-based water- and oil-repelling agent having perfluoroalkyl group and a resin liquid comprising a polydimethylsiloxane and methylhydrogensiloxane each having both amino and silanol groups as functional groups, the resulting fabric is then dried and subsequently heat-treated at 150-160 deg.C. By the method described above, the wool fabric can be imparted with high water repellency and shrink-resistance of durability to laundering. The wool fabric thus obtained can be washed without any felting even in common household.
