PURPOSE: To develop effective coating effective for corrosive wear caused by the collision of particles at low angles with turbomachine gas passage parts as the object of the development. ;CONSTITUTION: The surface of parts are thermally sprayed (by an explosive gun, plasma spraying or the like) with the powdery composition of chromium carbide (Cr3C2, Cr7C3 and Cr23C6) and an age hardening nickel base alloy (representative example is inconel 718). It is more effective that the adhering coating is heated to bring about the precipitation of intermetallic compounds on the inside of the nickel base alloy components. Chromium carbide provides good corrosion resistance, and the age hardening nickel base alloy provides resistances to thermal and mechanical stresses to the coating and particularly contributes to the corrosive wear resistance of the coating caused by the corrision of particles at low angles. As the representative example of the turbomachines, turbines are given, and as the representative examples of the gas passage parts, blades, vanes, duct parts, nozzle blocks and diaphragms are given.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
