PURPOSE:To measure the cutting lengths of all products with high accuracy at real time on-line by providing an arithmetic processing means calculating the cut length of a sheet by the positional data of the web tip fed from a tip position detecting means and the cutting completion signal fed from a cutting completion time detecting means. CONSTITUTION:The tip position of the web 10 coming by being transferred is intermittently detected by a tip position detecting means (CCD camera) 15 and input to an arithmetic processing means 16. At the moment when the web 10 is cut by a sheet cutting shear 2 a cutting completion signal is generated from a cutting completion time detecting means(rotary encoder) 18 and input to the arithmetic processing means 16. Based on these input signals, the length of the cut web 10 is calculated by the arithmetic processing means 16.
