PURPOSE: To reduce the number of installed inverters for controlling a.c. motors. ;CONSTITUTION: Running a.c. motors RM1 (MR2) and wind-up a.c. motors WM1 (WM2) are commonly connected to a vector inverter 11 through electromagnetic contactors MC1, MC2, respectively, and speed detectors PG1, PG2 for the running a.c. motors RM1 (RM2) and the wind-up a.c. motors WM1 (WM2) are commonly connected to the vector inverter 11 through contacts r1, r2. A controller 13 controls the electromagnetic contactors MC1, MC2 and contacts so as to connect either the running a.c. motors RM1 (RM2) and the corresponding speed detector PG2 or the wind-up a.c. motors WM1 (WM2) and the corresponding speed detector PG1 in switched to the vector inverter 11. Simultaneously with the switching operation, inherent motor data concerning a slip, a secondary resistance, a no-load current or the like of the running a.c. motor or the wind-up a.c. motor connected to the inverter 11 is given to the inverter 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
