PURPOSE: To obtain the object extremely similar to the original data by describing an object by one function and changing a function according to the object. ;CONSTITUTION: The device is provided with a function decision means 20, function applying means 21, means 22 calculating the difference degree of function parameter, and candidate object selecting means 23 on a control part 2 which controls various means. The control part 2 consists of a microprocessor and perform processing according to the control program written in a memory. The approximate shape of the object is acquired by applying the function representing the closed curve to the original data. The candidate of the original data with the similar shape is taken out by comparing the parameters of the function. Then, the application of the original data is performed by using another function and the applied function parameter the function parameter for the selected candidate are compared.
