OLIGONUCLEOTIDE FOR DETECTION OF MICROORGANISM OF GENUS SALMONELLA AND DETECTION METHOD USING THE OLIGONUCLEOTIDE

PURPOSE:To obtain a nucleic acid for the detection of a microorganism of the genus Salmonella causing food poisoning, etc., by using a nucleotide sequence coding an L-arabinose operon gene of a microorganism of the genus Salmonella in the specimen as a target and chemically synthesizing to get a sequence complimentary to the nucleotide sequence. CONSTITUTION:This new oligonucleotide for the detection of microorganism of the genus Salmonella in a specimen is produced by using a nucleotide sequence coding an L-arabinose operon gene of a microorganism of the genus Salmonella in the specimen as a target and chemically synthesizing to get a sequence complimentary to the nucleotide sequence. The synthetic nucleotide contains =10 continuing bases selected from the sequence group of formula I to formula V or is composed of a corresponding complimentary sequence. A microorganism of the genus Salmonella in a specimen can be detected by selectively amplifying a target nucleotide by PCR process using an oligonucleotide containing at least one of the formula I to formula V as a primer for the chain extension reaction and detecting the amplified nucleotide fragments.
