PURPOSE:To enable water to be supplied in a moistening unit even when a mixture gas respiration device is in use by a method wherein the other end of a bypass line is connected to a main air feed line at a portion between a pressure reducing valve and a check valve, and a check valve having a spring for closing is located in the bypass line. CONSTITUTION:When water is supplied in a moistening unit 7, when a pressure relief valve 9 is opened after an on-off valve 6 is only closed, middle pressure mixture gas in the moistening unit 7 is discharged through the pressure relief valve 9. Mixture gas for respiration fed to a vent connection metal 2 is fed to a respiration mask 3 through a bypass pipe 10 having a check valve 12 and a pressure reducing valve 4. A worker can supply water in the moistening unit 7 in a state to release the moistening unit 7, breathing in mixture gas. After water is supplied and the moistening unit 7 is closed, simply by closing the pressure relief valve 9 and opening the on-off valve 6, mixture gas for respiration fed to the vent connection metal 2 can be reduced in a pressure by the pressure reducing valve 4 and fed to the respiration mask 3 as the mixture gas is moistened by the moistening unit 7 in a main air feed line 5.
