PURPOSE:To separate and recover carbon dioxide from nitrogen oxide-containing raw material gas at high yield constantly by filling an adsorption column with an adsorbent in an excessive amount corresponding to the saturated accumulation amount of the nitrogen oxide, which is contained in the raw material gas, to accumulate on the adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:Carbon dioxide is separated and recovered from a raw material gas containing nitrogen and carbon dioxide and as an impurity nitrogen oxide by allowing carbon dioxide to adsorb on an adsorbent (e.g. activated carbon) with which adsorption columns 13, 14 are filled. At that time, the adsorption columns 13, 14 are filled with the adsorbent in an excessive amount corresponding to the saturated accumulation amount of the nitrogen oxide contained in the raw material to accumulate on the adsorbent. In other words, using a slightly large amount of the adsorbent as compared with the case that the adsorbent of activated carbon is used under the condition of being degrading by the nitrogen oxide accumulation on the adsorbent, not only carbon dioxide as a production gas is recovered at high efficiency constantly but the equipment for removing nitrogen oxide is made small or omitted and thus production cost can be lowered.
