PURPOSE: To provide an air current heating apparatus of a wind tunnel testing facility absorbing the thermal expansion of a sheathed heater at the time of heating and capable of preventing the generation of thermal strain. ;CONSTITUTION: Sheathed heaters 17 and dummy conductive rods 18 being hydrodynamically equivalent to the sheath heater 17 and having thermal expansion-absorbing sections extensible in the axial direction are connected mutually to constitute a conductible connector 19, a plurality of stages of the connectors 19 are constructed in the height direction so as to cross an air duct 8 formed in a casing 9, and a plurality of the connectors 19 are arrayed in the direction of the flow of an air current 5' so that the sheath heaters 17 and the dummy conductive rods 18 configuring the connectors 19 at each stage are arranged alternately in the direction of the flow of the air current 5'. The thermal expansion of the sheath heater 17 can be absorbed by the thermal expansion-absorbing section of the dummy conductive rod 18, and the air current 5' can be heated excellently so that the temperature distribution of the air current 5' is equalized in the cross direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
