PURPOSE:To cut a bar short under an accurate positioning control by stopping the feed of a bar with a hoisting chain limit switch by the act of the operation of a short cut clutch after pushing the bar with a feed bar toward the main shaft of an automatic disc until it is stopped by a primary stopper. CONSTITUTION:An end detecting lever 26 is rotated from a vertical position by an taking-out shaft 12 rotating in the 'a' marked arrow direction and stopped in an inclined state in a guide rail 20. When a bar 42 supplied to the rail 20 hits the bottom contact portion 26a, the signal from a limit switch 28 is sent to the controlling portion. The controlling portion pushes forward only the set pulse amount of the bar 42 to make it hit a primary stopper to stop it. When the bar 42 is pushed forward only the set length, after the lever 26 is returned to the vertical location and a stopper 32 is raised, the bar 42 is stopped with a signal from the limit switch by operating a short cut weight. The detection of a raw material end can be comparatively easily performed by such accurate positioning control of the raw material.
