PURPOSE: To obtain the subject sterilizing and disinfecting agent containing a specified troponoid metal complex as the active component and capable of sterilizing and inhibiting Pseudomonas aeruginosa while controlling sublimation and metal corrosion. ;CONSTITUTION: A sterilizer containing one or more kinds of troponoid metal complexes of the formula [R¹ is H, a lower alkyl, carboxyl, OH, a hydroxyalkyl, etc.; R² is H or OH; M is a metal; (n) is valence number of the metal; (m) is coordination number; (n) and (m) are mutually the same integer of 1 to 4] is used as the active component.
