PURPOSE: To prevent the surface crack of a cast slab developed by strain caused by the deformation of a solidified shell. ;CONSTITUTION: In order to prevent the longitudinal crack developed at the time of executing casting to the cast slab in a twin belt type continuous casting machine, the longitudinal crack is prevented by applying the coating agent on the belt surface to make the friction coefficient between the belt and the cast slab ≤0.3.
