PURPOSE:To control a tilting angle of a swash plate with low pressure and enable variation of the tilting angle in a wide range without largely fluctuating pressure required for controlling according to the tilting angle of the swash plate, even in the case that the tilting angle is enlarged. CONSTITUTION:In a variable displacement swash plate type pump, an oscillation axis of a swash plate 30 on the side opposite to the side where a piston member 12 is not provided across a plane P passing centers O of a plurality of spherical bearings 15 which respectively connect base ends of the piston members 12 to sliding members 13, along a straight line passing a reference point separated by specified minute length from the plane P. In a variable displacement swash plate type motor, an oscillation axis of the swash plate 30 on the side opposite to the side where the piston member 12 is provided across the plane P passing centers O of a plurality of spherical bearings 15 which respectively connect base ends of the piston members 12 to the sliding members 13, along a straight line passing a reference point separated by specified minute length from the plane P.
