摘要

PURPOSE: To improve adhesiveness to a low melting metal and to improve strength by using chopped carbon fibers adhered with fine particles on the surfaces as carbon fibers constituting the composite material. ;CONSTITUTION: The compsn. of the composite material is formed, by weight%, of l to 40% chopped carbon fibers and 60 to 99% low melting metal. The chopped carbon fibers are formed by uniformly adhering the fine particles of inorg. materials, metallic materials or simple substance elements having an average particle size of 0.05 to 1μm in single layer to 8 to 90% of the surfaces of the carbon fibers. The chopped carbon fibers are dispersed into the low melting metal powder and the powder is compressed at the sintering temp. of the low melting metal or above or the chopped carbon fibers are die cast with the molten low melting metal at the time of molding the composite material. The low melting metals to be used are Al, Zn, Mg, Sn, Sb, Pb, Cu and the alloys of these metals.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
