SELF-ALIGNING LOW JAM RATE IDLER ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE: To provide a self-aligning low jam rate idler assembly usable to transfer a cut sheet by an electrophotographic printer. ;CONSTITUTION: In a device for applying vertical force to a paper sheet advanced by drive members 204, the device includes idler members 202 having a lengthwise rotary shaft 250 and a holding member 208 for fixing the idlers 202 by being brought into contact with the drive members 204. The idler members 202 form a nip for advancing a paper sheet between these by contacting with the drive members 204, and the holding member 208 can align with the drive members 24 when the idler members 202 simultaneously turn on plural surfaces around a preselected point of the lengthwise rotary shaft 250.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
